V2 Chapter 11: Yuehua Experiences What Lin Mo Once Felt (Part 1)

After Ye Kai left, Wanwan kept observing the changes on Lin Mo’s face. Lin Mo cast her a very indifferent glance. Yet the calmer he appeared, the more inexplicable panic welled up in her heart.

“Your matter will be decided after we return,” Lin Mo said.

“Woof, woof!” Wanwan dared not speak and could only echo along. Lin Mo had mocked her before, but all things considered, serving as a dog before the Young Lord was hardly shameful. Her Meiyan Clan had always taken pride in Ancestor Chu Tiange’s mighty “Bark Battalion.”

Lin Mo gave Wanwan an approving look. “You really know when to bend and when to stretch.” He did not dislike smooth and tactful people—like Lin Tian, for instance. On the contrary, such people were easier to make use of.

When they returned to the Demon Lord Meiyan’s residence, Lin Mo gathered everyone together. “There’s something here I’d like everyone to see.” What Lin Mo referred to was a scene from Ye Kai’s memories. He hadn’t looked at it beforehand, and so didn’t know its contents. Still, since the matter had come up suddenly, showing it to everyone now should do no harm.

Of course, he didn’t show it to his precious beloved daughter. Scenes from Ye Kai’s memories surely contained many things unsuitable for children. Lin Mo could guess that with just a wiggle of his toes.

Everyone else looked full of curiosity—only Wanwan seemed nervous and uneasy. Very soon, an image floated into the air of the hall. Lin Mo skipped over the parts concerning Ye Kai’s childhood growth. As for how Ye Kai had entangled himself with Shen Ke’er, how he sowed discord regarding his relationship with her, and how he stirred up strife between the disciples of Qingzhu Peak and himself—Lin Mo only gave those contents a cursory glance.

Things turned out completely different from what he had originally estimated. There was no point in watching the trivialities—he cut straight to the main topic. The scene quickly moved to when Ye Kai encountered Wanwan. Lin Mo was quite surprised; he hadn’t expected that after he left, it was Ye Kai who saved Wanwan.

Wanwan had been saved thanks to Ye Kai? Out of gratitude for having her life saved, she had agreed to teach Ye Kai the method of restoring his foundation. When this part of the scene was displayed in the hall, everyone was shocked. After all, this concerned an explosive matter.

“Your master carries within him a Demon Seed left behind by the Ten Thousand Demons Clan,” Lin Mo explained. “Her cultivation can be completely absorbed using demonic clan secret arts.”

Seeing this, Yan Ruyu exclaimed, “Who would have thought that a fruit of the Demonic Clan would have returned to the human realm—and that person is even the Young Lord’s master.”

The Demon Lord also nodded. “To possess a Demon Seed of the Demonic Clan—over a hundred years ago, that would have certainly been someone of extremely high standing. From what I know, aside from myself, within hundreds of miles—even thousands—there is almost no one left with a Demon Seed.”

“But my own Demon Seed was already used up on my daughter. Presumably, the Young Lord’s master obtained his fruit from the disciples of Demon Lords Baili and Qianchi.”

Lin Mo nodded slightly. It seemed his master had indeed experienced some extraordinary encounter. Perhaps his master’s hatred of the Demonic Clan stemmed from that very experience. But in the end, it had nothing to do with him.

He continued watching. The scene shifted to when Wanwan began helping Ye Kai—teaching him cultivation methods, and refining for him a potion of demonic infusion.

Lin Mo looked at Wanwan and, with a blank expression, said with a smile: “Who would’ve thought—you turned out to be Ye Kai’s golden cheat finger!” Wanwan was so frightened that she didn’t dare make a sound.

The Demon Lord Meiyan also turned an icy gaze on her daughter. “Yes, Ye Kai may have saved you. But the Young Lord repays his own debts. For you to use that as an excuse to harm him—you deserve to die.”

Yan Ruyu more or less guessed the reason. She understood Wanwan better than the Demon Lord Meiyan did, which was why she suspected Wanwan had acted as Ye Kai’s “golden cheat finger,” helping him contend for the Young Lord’s position against Lin Mo. Of course, there was still no concrete evidence to prove it.

Wanwan, however, felt inwardly relieved—after all, she had never revealed any of her own secrets to Ye Kai. She had merely been forced into being saved by him, and thus had become his assistant. Perhaps she could make use of this point to atone for her past mistakes. The scene then continued onward.

After Ye Kai returned to the Qingling Sect, he took advantage of Lin Mo’s absence to secretly practice demonic arts. He began scheming how to frame Lin Mo. When Lin Mo returned to Qingzhu Peak, Ye Kai started targeting one girl after another from the Qingling Sect, using their bodies to restore his crippled foundation. When his foundation was nearly restored, that was when the plot to frame Lin Mo began.

Wanwan said to Ye Kai, “Rest assured. These powders of mine, once your senior brother ingests them, will ensure demonic energy breeds inside his body. Don’t worry. Once my demonic energy is sealed into that magical artifact, as soon as your senior brother touches it, he too will be tainted by my demonic energy.”

Seeing this, Lin Mo really didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He had thought it was Gu Zi’s spiritual herbs and Duan Susu’s refined artifact that had gone wrong. Turns out, it was Wanwan colluding with Ye Kai to frame him. Only, at the time, he hadn’t realized that he was cultivating both immortal and demonic arts, which meant all this demonic energy ended up becoming his nourishment. In one stroke, he broke through two minor realms.

By now, the Demon Lord Meiyan was furious, staring coldly at her daughter. “You’ve really got guts—even daring to frame the Young Lord.” Terrified, Wanwan hurried to plead: “Young Lord, at that time Wanwan truly didn’t know your identity. Besides, I had only been saved by Ye Kai…”

Lin Mo revealed a faint smile. “It’s fine. I understand—let’s just keep watching.” Since Lin Mo had spoken, the Demon Lord Meiyan temporarily suppressed her impulse to slap her own daughter to death. The memory then shifted to the recorded scene—the incident Shen Ke’er had secretly witnessed.

That too had been Wanwan’s doing. Not only that—in order to frame Lin Mo, she even deliberately took on Lin Mo’s appearance and committed violence right before Shen Ke’er’s eyes. Up until the sect’s Grand Competition began, she and Ye Kai had been standing aside, gloating at Lin Mo’s misfortune.

Lin Mo was slandered, and even during his duel with Zhu Shiyao, they deliberately struck a demonic pearl into his body. This caused Lin Mo’s aura to spiral out of control, and afterward came the scene of him being besieged by the Qingling Sect.

“Wanwan, you really were willing—just to frame the Young Lord, you even used the demonic pearls I found for you on him.” The Demon Lord Meiyan could no longer restrain herself; with a surge of demonic pressure she forced Wanwan to her knees before Lin Mo. “Young Lord, Wanwan deserves death. I will personally kill this wretched child.” Wanwan struggled in bitter despair. Lin Mo’s face was expressionless. Yan Ruyu’s face was expressionless. Qi Qi, too, showed no expression. The Lin Mo in the memory looked far too pitiful; if anyone else had been framed it might have been nothing, but this was the current Young Lord of the Demon Realm.

“I truly never expected,” Yan Ruyu said coldly, “that the one who drove my husband into the Demon Realm… was you.” Wanwan frantically tried to defend herself. “I didn’t know! I didn’t know! At the time, that person was the Young Lord—otherwise I would never have done such a thing. It was all to help Ye Kai!” Lin Mo mused aloud, “How should I deal with your daughter? Let me think.” Then he added, “If not for her, I wouldn’t be the Young Lord of the Demon Realm now. For that reason alone, I’ll spare her life like a dog’s.” Hearing this, Wanwan finally exhaled in relief. To keep her life was more important than anything.

Lin Mo suddenly said, “Oh right—during the next month, let your daughter experience a thousand times each day what I once did to you. After that, have her assume the form of a dog, serve as Xiang’er’s pet, and guard her at all times.” “Yes, Young Lord.” The Demon Lord Meiyan looked coldly at her daughter. “Offer up the lifeblood of your soul to the Young Lord of your own will, and thank him for sparing you.” Without the slightest hesitation, Wanwan surrendered her very soul to Lin Mo. Lin Mo couldn’t help but smile—though Wanwan’s combat strength was feeble, she had still reached the Nascent Soul stage. Having someone at that realm serve as a battle hound to protect Xiang’er wasn’t bad at all.

By now Yan Ruyu had seen through everything, and she shared her suspicions with Lin Mo. “Husband, perhaps this maid of mine deliberately pretended to have been saved by Ye Kai, all to target you—competing with me and showing off that the man she favored was stronger than the husband I chose.” Lin Mo, however, didn’t really care. He had already noticed some issues; now the truth was laid bare—most of the problems had stemmed from Ye Kai. With Wanwan’s soul in his grasp, she was absolutely loyal and still useful; there was no need for her to die.

The later parts of Ye Kai’s memories were viewed by Lin Mo alone. After he had been teleported away, Gu Qingxue returned, cutting down all of the peak masters of the Qingling Sect, and even took Qu Ruyan with her. It seemed that the feelings formed during her memory loss still remained. What surprised Lin Mo most was Gu Qingxue’s strength—she had easily and seriously wounded all the peak masters. That level of power looked to be above even the Nascent Soul realm. No wonder, when she accompanied Jiang Yuanran to the Lin family to annul the marriage, the oppression she radiated was so great—she’d been a hidden powerhouse all along.

In the days that followed, while recuperating under his master Yuehua at Qingzhu Peak, Ye Kai continued using many female cultivators to restore his crippled foundation, and was even caught in bed by Shen Ke’er. “So that’s how Shen Ke’er died.” To say he felt no emotional stirrings would be a lie—she was still the junior sister he had grown up with. All he could say was that she died a truly pitiful death.
