V2 Chapter 33: It’s Still the Night Raid

After the young clan leader of the Lihu Tiger Clan collapsed to the ground,
the other maids stared wide‑eyed, completely stunned by what they had just seen.

“Is the young master really dead?”

“Does this mean we’re finally free?”

“That’s great, that’s really great.”

Not a trace of grief could be seen in their eyes; instead, they began cheering in delight.

But the cheering only lasted a short while before one of the maids raised a serious issue.

“The young master is dead. As his accompanying maids, we’ll have to be buried with him!”

Their gazes all shifted to the two who had made the move—Xiaoli and Xiaoyu.

“Xiaoli, Xiaoyu, we all hate the young master, but if you killed him, we’ll be dragged down with you…”

The twin‑tailed girl named Xiaoli said, “What are you afraid of? It’s not like we did this.”

Xiaoyu nodded and gave the other maids a meaningful smile.

“Didn’t the young master get burned to death by that venomous snake‑hearted demon girl, the honored guest of the Kunpeng clan?”

As she spoke, a ball of blazing fire surged into Xiaoyu’s hand and swept over the young master’s corpse on the ground, burning it into a charred husk.

The women instantly understood what Xiaoyu and Xiaoli meant.

They had simply never imagined that, after serving the young master together for decades, Xiaoli and Xiaoyu would actually dare to strike him down.

More importantly, they had known each other for decades and had a decent grasp of one another’s strength.

Yet this time, none of them had even seen how Xiaoyu and Xiaoli made their move.

And the young master’s strength had never been weak. He carried a trace of divine White Tiger blood in his body. Even if it was only a small portion, it was not something a bunch of newly advanced Nascent Soul wild yao like them could possibly assassinate.

With that in mind, the looks they gave Xiaoli and Xiaoyu grew wary.

Twin‑tailed Xiaoli stepped forward with a smile. “Don’t be so scared. We’re all the same—pitiful girls oppressed by the young master. We’re not going to hurt you.”

One of the women asked, “You’ve killed the young master. What are you planning to do next?”

“Obviously, take the news of his death back to the Lihu Tiger Clan,” Xiaoli replied.

“And while we’re at it, we’ll collect all the wealth he’s been secretly hoarding over the years.”

The woman pressed, “But if you do that, you’ll spark a war between the two clans.”

When it came down to it, the Yao clan was still far too weak right now. If internal strife broke out at this time, when would the Yao clan ever rise again?

Xiaoyu asked, “Then do you have a better way to handle this?”

“Do you really want to spend your whole life at the side of this tiger demon who bullies and forces you?”

All of them fell silent. Indeed, not a single one of them truly wanted to follow the young clan leader of the Lihu Tiger Clan. They had all been forced by the pressure of the Lihu Tiger Clan and had chosen to follow him for the sake of their own clans and families…

Seeing this, Xiaoyu dropped another bombshell.

“And there’s something you probably don’t know. Your clans’ fate of being hunted hasn’t changed at all just because you submitted to the young master.”

As she spoke, Xiaoyu took out a spirit stone engraved with a recording array.

The images stored inside the stone were soon projected into the air. The scenes were all of the Lihu Tiger Clan hunting down minor clans and rogue yao.

“See that? Those yao being hunted—aren’t they the very kin from your clans you’ve been worrying about?”

For a moment, none of the women dared believe the truth before their eyes.

“How is this possible…”

“The young master clearly promised us…”

Xiaoli stepped out then, letting out a cold laugh. “Don’t be stupid. Did you really think the Lihu Tiger Clan were anything good?”

“The clan leader is the young master’s father. There’s no way the young master didn’t know about this.

“And why do you think the Lihu Tiger Clan has been able to deliver a full hundred thousand jin of top‑grade monster meat to the Devouring Clan so frequently lately?

“That’s all your clansmen—your own family.”

Xiaoli’s words were like a cudgel, smashing through the fog in their minds. As she watched, boundless hatred simultaneously flooded into their eyes.

Xiaoli knew the time was ripe.

“Xiaoyu and I were just like you, kept completely in the dark. We once hated ourselves for being unable to protect our clans and our families.

“But through certain means, we learned the truth—and we gained greater power.

“Besides, don’t you want to change the current state of the Demon Realm?”

“Why should the Lihu Tiger Clan be born a level above us?”

“Why should our Yao clan cower in fear of humans and hide away?”

Among the women, someone asked, “With just us, how could we possibly change something like that?”

Xiaoli’s lips curved. “Of course you can’t do it with only you. That’s why I need to tell you what kind of power I’ve come into contact with.”

“The ones who told me the truth were from an organization called Night-Raid.”

“The reason Xiaoyu and I have improved so quickly is also because of Night-Raid.”

“If you join Night-Raid like we did, you too can change the current situation.”

On Lin Mo’s side, he led Qu Ruyan back into the Kunpeng clan’s territory.

Kun Feng immediately went to report everything that had happened on this trip to his mother, Kun Hao.

“Mother, those bastards called our Kunpeng clan the Demon Realm’s watchdogs!”

“We’re clearly divine birds, and they actually compared us to dogs. It’s infuriating.”

Kun Hao couldn’t be bothered with her foolish son.

Instead, she looked at Lin Mo with a face full of concern.

“Little Lord, are you all right?”

Lin Mo said calmly, “Nothing serious.”

Kun Hao said, “I’ll report the matter of the Lihu Tiger Clan and the Devouring Clan to the Demon Lord. It’s just that…”

Her gaze shifted to Qu Ruyan.

Qu Ruyan, meanwhile, was staring at the giant bird in front of her, several times larger than herself, and couldn’t help drooling a little at the corner of her mouth.

“What a big bird… I wonder how it tastes…”

Lin Mo hurriedly covered Qu Ruyan’s mouth.

He apologized to Kun Hao. “My silly little sister’s not right in the head.”

Kun Hao nodded. “That much I could already see. But she bears a contract with a human.”

Lin Mo said, “Don’t worry about that. I know the human who signed a contract with my silly sister.”

“He’s a handsome, elegant, and debonair human genius.”

“His character is absolutely guaranteed, and his ideals are far ahead of the current age.”

“My silly sister only signed a contract with him because they’re close.”

Kun Hao said, “Little Lord, you certainly think highly of this human.”

“Even if everything you say is true, the Yao clan is extremely sensitive about human contracts right now.”

“If the Devouring Clan and the Lihu Tiger Clan really make an issue of this, I won’t be able to protect her.”

Lin Mo said, “It’s fine. In a couple of days I’ll take my silly sister back to the Human Realm.”

“I only came to the Demon Realm this time because of Qu Ruyan. Now that everything’s been settled, there’s no need for me to stay.”

“Little Lord, you’re going back to the Human Realm?”

“With how chaotic the Human Realm is, what’s so bad about staying here?”

Lin Mo said, “I grew up in the Human Realm. My friends are there. I’m still more suited to living in the Human Realm.”

“Once I’ve finished dealing with matters in the Human Realm, I may come back to the Demon Realm.”

Hearing this, Kun Yu could no longer say anything.

The next day, demon cultivators from the Lihu Tiger Clan arrived at their gates, murderous intent rolling off them.

After Kun Yu learned why they had come, he turned to Lin Mo.

“Little Lord, the young clan leader of the Lihu Tiger Clan is dead. I’m afraid you won’t be able to leave for the time being.”
